“We do not use the body to get into a pose – we use the pose to get into our body.” ~ Bernie Clarke

Yin yoga is a gentle and unhurried practice. Holding postures (which may be modified or supported) for minutes as you focus on the qualities of softening the breath and stillness. The meditative pace of yin yoga offers the opportunity to turn inwards and quietly nourish space within your body.

FULL MOON YIN YOGA (each month) and SHIATSU YIN YOGA dates on our EVENTS page.

“I have been attending private Yin Yoga sessions… Cherie is a highly proficient, observant teacher who offers both philosophical and practical reasons behind the postures. Cherie will readily adapt my practice, simply based on how I walk into the studio on any given day and how I’m feeling.”

“Our breath, like our heartbeat, is the most reliable rhythm in our lives. When we become attuned to this constant rhythm, our breath can gradually teach us to come back to the original silence of the mind.” ~ Donna Farhi

An inclusive, accessible, slow paced practice; an inquiry based style of yoga. We focus on ease of movement, rather than range of movement using the breath as a guide.

Yoga props and modifications are utilised to make postures accessible for every body.

Suitable for beginners or anyone uncomfortable in large group classes. Anyone returning to practice after a break, or seeking a slower, exploratory approach.

Yoga THERAPY

This is offered in private sessions.

A yoga practice customised and relevant to the individual, supporting their current health, rehabilitation or injury management, lifestyle and outlined goals. This practice may incorporate asana with modifications (physical practice), pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, mantra, visualisation, affirmation and intention setting.

Cherie has a Graduate Certificate Yoga Therapy (690hrs) from the Yoga Therapy Institute.

“I was particularly appreciative of her conscientiousness, as I was determined to avoid exacerbating my condition. Cherie recommended basic exercises that I could easily incorporate into my daily routine at home. The simple act of raising my arm above my head which was once a challenge, now fills me with immense joy and a renewed sense of vitality.”

Yoga WITH ROPES

This is offered as a private session for individuals or small group.

Practice with the support of wall ropes exploring postures using gravity as a natural form of resistance – beneficial for spine health through the use of traction to relieve pressure from vertebral discs.

Yoga rope work increases balance and proprioception (bodily awareness).

Strengthen the arms, wrists, legs and stretch the body with supported inversions.
